  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

1. Bake the Cake

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  • Slowly pour in hot coffee (this enhances the chocolate flavor!) and mix gently.
  • Divide batter evenly into two greased 8-inch pans.
  • Bake at 170ยฐC (340ยฐF) for 30โ€“35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool completely before frosting.

2. Make the Frosting

  • Beat butter until light and creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing well.
  • Add cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy and smooth.

3. Assemble the Cake

  • Place one cake layer on a board and spread a thick layer of frosting.
  • Add the second layer and frost the entire cake.
  • Smooth the sides or create decorative swirls for a decadent finish.
