Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ยฝ tsp baking soda
  • ยผ tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ยฝ cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ยพ cup (150g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ยฝ cup (120ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • ยฝ cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

๐Ÿฏ Optional Orange Glaze

  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2โ€“3 tbsp fresh orange juice

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 170ยฐC. Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in orange zest and vanilla extract.
  6. Add dry ingredients in batches, alternating with milk and orange juice. Mix gently until just combinedโ€”do not overmix.
  7. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 45โ€“55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Mix powdered sugar with orange juice until smooth, then drizzle over cooled cake.
